How To Make Beautiful DIY Wedding Program Fans

Beautiful DIY Wedding Program Fans

I had so many requests on how to make your own diy wedding stationary and program fans! They are easy for even first time DIY project, and a great way to save on your wedding budget. I had so much fun that I also did my place cards and guest book inserts too. Check it out!

Design it With Canva

Canva is the easiest, most powerful tool to design your wedding stationary. They have an app, but you’ll need a computer to use their full selection of designing tools. Begin by entering your stationary size, and then its as easy as click and drag! If you don’t know how to use it, YouTube has endless quick learn videos to make you a pro in no time. Your wedding guests will be so amazed with your design talent. Be sure to save your finished design in PDF Print for the best printing results.

Wow Worthy Stationary Paper

My favorite stationary pieces were printed on seed paper! Botanical Paperworks offers sensational stationary that your guests can plant, and literally watch your love grow! The paper arrived quickly, terrific thick quality, and printed easily from my at home printer. I was also amazed with their customer support and help, they offer the best printing support for first time DIYers. So instead of heading to your nearest craft store, consider something your guest can take home to enjoy your special day a little bit longer.

Print & Assemble!

Printing and assembling your wedding stationary is a lot easier than you would think. I saved a lot of time and money by ordering my ink on Amazon, as well as the Jumbo Wavy Fan Sticks to make my programs into wedding fans. I recommend using hot glue to hold the fans together- many other blogs recommended double sided tape that just won’t hold up to fanning. To print your pieces, feed the paper into the printer one at a time. It goes quickly, and the finished result is so professional looking that your guests may not believe you made them!

I had so much fun that I also printed off these cute pages for my guest book / advice box. My guests had a hoot drawing who they sat next to. Looking back at all of the details, I’m glad I made them myself.

My best wedding advice to you is to ENJOY your wedding planning. Have fun and make it everything you dreamed of. The wedding day goes fast, so make the most of planning the little details. Have questions? I’m always happy to help! Head over to the Ask The Brat page with any questions you have.

Best Bridal Makeup Products of 2017

We tied the knot! And my makeup stayed on all day! I spent the majority of my wedding planning searching for the very best in beauty products. Here are the best bridal makeup products that made me look flawless, photographed beautifully, and stayed on all day! Bonus, click on the products to check them out for yourself, and as promised, more wedding photos at the end. <3

This is my favorite primer right now. I love how light it is, how much of it absorbs into the skin, and how it provides a continuous moisture through the day. This is your first step towards healthy, young, dewy looking skin. My wedding day was hot, sticky, and long so I applied a second layer for good measure.

Throw away every foundation you have ever used and go right to RCMA now. I have raved about this for a while, but the payout and pigment of these color-process foundations are unreal. They are professional foundations, but you don’t need professional skills to use them. Simply mix in a tad of your face oil, or moisturizer and blend right into the skin. For my wedding day I used Shinto 1 & 2. They work for all skin types, cover ANYTHING, and they’re only $29.00 for 5 shades. For best results, set with their RCMA colorless powders that beauty bloggers rave about.

This is the only powder pallet you will ever need and it will last you forever. I used this to contour my face, as well as highlight and correct any shadows from blemishes. I also used this as my crease and brow shadows, they blend so beautifully! This pallet was gifted to me by Steven London, the most fun beauty streamer on Facebook. Watch him live at Noon EST. on facebook @TheScene.

Oh how I love this concealer. It is so light feeling, yet so full coverage. I loved how it blended easily into my foundation, and how it stayed true to it’s color when it dried (it didn’t oxidize like many other products). I wear the shade light honey. This is one of my all time favorite finds.

Kylie Cosmetics Dirty Peach Lip Kit Liner

Kylie Jenner Lip Kits are wildly popular. They wear very pretty too, but I am most in love with the lip liner that comes inside this kit. The color Dirty Peach is a beautiful nude variation, with subtle warmth, and stays on FOREVER. Through eating, champagne, lots of smooching my groom, this pencil alone all over my lips stayed on 9 hours. That, is a true beauty product win.

And now, wedding pictures! Special credit to the best Boston wedding photographer, Photography By Andrea.

How To Find The Perfect Wedding Dress

I’m in absolute love with my wedding dress! It’s the gown I always imagined… but not what I imagined I would ever choose. So how do you choose the perfect wedding dress? There are so many options, so many stores, prices… not to mention the gowns I saw on Pinterest that I thought were THE ONE. They weren’t. So how in the world do you find the perfect wedding dress without trying on a hundred? Here’s how find the perfect wedding dress, easily.

1. DO Know Your Top 2 Dress Silhouetts

Searching for your gown should be fun and stress free. It’s easy to get online and see these beautiful gowns and dresses that you LOVE. But be aware of which dress types compliment your figure. You can search ‘Dress Silhouetts For __ Body Type’ but the best way is to look in your closet. Without realizing it, you have probably already found a few Dress cuts that perfectly compliment your figure. That way when you arrive to the shop, you can narrow down your selection pretty quickly. My best fit was the A line, with a sweetheart neckline.

Still Stuck?: If you don’t know, tell the sales associate you need help finding a dress type. They have done this a million times and probably know your best fit.

2. DO Try On Something Different

When you are explaining to the sales associate what you are looking for, mention which types you like, but mention that you would like to try something different too. You may be surprised! I sure was. I was dead set, I mean SET on a Cinderella BIG ball gown.

Remember: You don’t have to veer too far from what you like. For example, try a dress with the same top, but different type of skirt.

3. Do NOT Feel Pressured By Anyone

Whether your Mother, Sister, best friend, or even the sales associate is suggesting a certain dress, remember that it is your day. The sales gal will probably try to get you to ring a bell and buy the dress right there, your mom may begin crying when you try one on that you don’t love… just follow your heart and tell them if it doesn’t make you feel special.

Best Tip: Make sure to take photos and sleep on it for a night… maybe even two… before you make your final purchase. Take a photo of the tag to remember the dress, also to check it’s price at other shops.

Maggie Sottero Gown I Loved

4. DON’T Decide Before You Go

Pinterest can be your wedding BFF, and also your worst enemy. So often I see gals picking one dress type, searching for it endlessly, and then stuck at ground zero because it wasn’t the best dress for them. I had fallen in LOVE with this form fitting Maggie Sottero gown I saw on Pinterest. I searched for it everywhere, and was left heart broken. The first gown that I thought was THE ONE, didn’t compliment my figure. It was such a let down to start this way. I wasted huge deal of time and the specialty shop only had a couple other dresses to try on. I was back at square one and bummed beyond belief.

Instead: Bring lots of dress images you like, know your dress types like I said earlier, and choose a store with a variety of dresses to try. The bigger the store the better. I really recommend Davids Bridal for your first appointment because they have SO many different types of gowns. Their Vera White collection is to die for too.

5. Do NOT Focus On Changeable Details

Stay focused on the skirt and the top shape of the dress; not the straps, not sleeves, or the bling. Imagine it like those house shopping shows when a someone says they don’t like the house because of the paint colors and wallpaper. Those can ALL be changed. It is inexpensive to add a strap, a cap sleeve, add a belt, etc. My biggest mistake was to look for a dress completely jewled out and there weren’t many. I decided to add a blinged out belt, thin straps, and a thinner slip to get the look I wanted. It MAYBE costed me $125 to do so. Your alterations department can completely change the look of your gown with just a few additions.

6. Let Your Personality Shine!

The number one way to find your perfect gown is to find one that shouts, “This Dress is Me!” Do you love to stand out? Don’t be shy to rock a different look down the aisle. Love your legs? Try a high low gown or a shorter one. Prefer to stay subtle? Go for simple elegance. Love pink? Blush tone gowns are in! The type of dress an evening gown?- Change the time of the wedding! Who cares.

When you walk down that aisle to the one you love, you want to feel your best and that is what matters. Regardless of what gown your crew would like, if you love it, they will say, “Oh that is so her!” That is what I did. My shoes aren’t even white.

So what dress did I pick? 🙂

Here is a sneak peak. Until the wedding, you will have to wait to see the rest.
